Out and About

So much has happened since I left this blog forlorn and in a creative huff. There was just too much going on. "That's what you get for starting a blog in summer," I naively thought.
Wrong.
It seems if you can fit 6 people in a house you will always be searching for time, because there will always be one up and one down and four others heading in one of those directions.
I digress.
We have lost Little Miss Cosmetic to the infinitely more appealing house share with 'pretty young friends known from childhood'. The replacement happened in my absence. Which I can promise is an odd thing.
You go on holiday, get a few vague reports about how hard it is to find the right person, and then it is done.
You return form holidays and the room is empty. Little Miss Cosmetic has gone and left a bunch of knickers down the side of her bed and a soft layer of foundation over everything- like skin coloured dust.
I met our new entrant, Out & About, dressed as a cat. I would like to elaborate and say it was Halloween, and bless her for not flinching when she shook hands with Amy Winehouse (complete with syringe and tattoos).
To be honest, I think I've seen her four times since then. Four times in the last four months. She really is Out & About all the time. As Rude Boy put it, "That's a lot of money to pay for a place to leave your clothes."
However I understand that it was only a matter of time before we got a house ghost. The infamous flatmate that is never home but always pays the rent on time (why are they always the ones to pay on time? Are they afraid we will change the locks and they wont notice for a week?)
Now we have a ghost it feels kind of strange. If I stay up late and watch some stupid movie she will come in all chipper, seemingly oblivious to the fact it is 11:45pm, and scare the personality out of me.
She is so Out & About I forget she exists, if it wasn't for the rent I might even have begun to believe she never really lived here at all.
